Automotive Tire Technologies Agenda

Automotive Tire Technologies Agenda

Automotive IQ’s 17th Automotive Tire Technology Europe 2023 conference returns to Munich, Germany this November, with opportunities to discuss and solve immediate challenges facing the automotive steering segment, and co-located with the Automotive Braking Systems, Advanced Suspension Systems, and Automotive Steering Systems events.

Right here, right now, there are several megatrends that are impacting the entire automotive sector, including electrification, automation, digitalization, and sustainability. Together, they are creating new requirements for the tire-maker. However, the biggest driver for change and the greater burden on the industry is sustainability-driven. And while there is a lot of new tire technology in development, there are several ongoing political discussions over regulations. The latest topic being pushed hotly by the European Commission is tire operation, wear, and particles.

A question echoing in the industry right now is ‘How can the industry make the tire more sustainable?’ ; this being linked directly to vehicle electrification. Reducing emissions, and energy consumption are adding to this burden, and the obligation to meet sustainability targets is cascading down to all tiers of suppliers. There is also the recognition that because of the pace at which things are moving, the complexity of and demand for tire technology is quite different from the OEM or the commercial fleet operator to the end customer.
